Paxton CUT Butterfly We (Erich, Martha & Audrey) have had - TopicsExpress

Paxton CUT Butterfly We (Erich, Martha & Audrey) have had numerous unusual interactions with butterflies this summer. None of us had ever seen a Red Spotted Purple in our lives, but now we refer to it as Paxtons Butterfly: -A gorgeous black, iridescent blue, orange and white butterfly landed at the bottom of the living room window while I (Martha) was watching tv. Moths land on windows. Not butterflies. It very slowly walked up the glass in a straight vertical line. When it reached the top of the window, it flew back to the bottom and began to creep up the pane again. I yelled at Audrey to quickly come downstairs to see. We went out onto the patio where Paxton lingered long enough for us to admire him. -Our butterfly friend flew around and around Audrey as she rode her new bike (Paxtons Trek with the seat dropped as low as possible) up and down the driveway. And I was circled while cutting the grass. -One afternoon when Erich was the last person to leave the construction site, Paxs butterfly hovered near him too. -At our garage sale, a Red Spotted Purple landed on Audreys outgrown Xmas dress and then stopped on Erichs old soccer jersey before departing. Of course now we are all keenly aware of butterflies. Even with such challenging and fleeting lives, butterflies add tremendous beauty and wonder to the world. A fitting symbol that we find comforting. Paxton has indulged me by posing for several photos. He did his very best imitation of the CUT symbol.
