`Pay Ahead, Stay Ahead` Champion Reference: 1380 Location: Tyseley, Birmingham, B11 2AA. Salary: £15,481 Hours: 35 Job description: This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a brand new project, `Pay Ahead, Stay Ahead`, that aims to improve the financial confidence of Birmingham`s youngest tenants, so they`re better equipped to manage and sustain their tenancies. This opportunity is offered over 3 years on a fixed term contract. Ashram, part of the Accord Group together with partnership networks has successfully secured funding from the BIG Lottery Fund, Improving Financial Confidence Programme, to lead this project. We are looking to recruit 2 `Pay Ahead, Stay Ahead` Champion`s to work from our Office based in the Tyseley area of Birmingham. However this post does require you to work across a number of bases around Birmingham City Centre and therefore a good knowledge of the area and the ability to travel easily is essential. The project will use both innovative engagement and learning techniques to engage and support first-time social housing tenants aged 16-24. With this in mind we require someone who is empathetic towards this age group and shows a great passion for working with young people. The successful candidates will have outstanding communication skills in order to engage with neighbourhoods to ensure active participation of our target group. Your working pattern is Mon- Fri, 9am-5pm; however you must be flexible and willing to work evening and weekends when required. Your ability to adapt to the changing dynamics of the project as it evolves is crucial. The first 6 months will consist of an intensive induction programme. In years 2 and 3 of the project you will be required to deliver training sessions to local groups. As this is a highly customer focused role, you will need to be smart and maintain professionalism at all times. Good IT skills within Microsoft packages are essential including PowerPoint, Excel and Word along with an understanding of barriers faced by young people, welfare reform.
