Peace-(fruits of the spirit) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 ESV) My message The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. (Psalm 93:1 ESV). We are still on our series The fruit of the spirit and today we will be looking at the third fruit that is peace. Peace literally means a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations. In biblical terms, it is a fruit of the spirit that shows the state of mutual harmony between Man and God as a result of the Finished work of Christ. This is also being extended to others in our relationship with them, also this fruit is being made visible in us by the indwelling and the work of the Holy Spirit. Characteristics of Peace This peace dwells in our hearts and minds- Colossians 3:15 It surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and minds in Christ with reference to Phillipians 4:7 Given to us through Christ-John 14:27 It cannot be found in the world but in Christ All the fruit of the Spirit are the invisible attributes or nature of God which He wants to make visible in His Children so that the world will see the light in us and praise Him. However, because God is a God of peace, His children are peace makers thats why the bible says “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God(Matthew 5:9 ESV). Peace makers are those who are patient with everyone, do not abhor evil in their hearts, they easily let go of wrongs done to them and also promote peace. Anyone that do not promote peace but always promoting strife is not of God but of the devil. Importance of bearing this fruit It is a blessing (Matthew 5:9) The reason why peace makers are always blessed is because their hearts is filled with much joy and their minds at peace, also live at peace with their neighbours. Only children of God can bring the peace of knowing God to others. A person must have a real relationship with God before he or she can help someone else know God. Those who witness for Christ, share their faith with their friends, and serve others in the name of Christ are the ambassadors for peace this verse identifies (see also Matthew 10:41-42). Those who bring the wonderful message of Gods peace to the world are peacemakers, and Jesus calls them the children of God.-Got question It is my prayer God will help us to bear this fruit of peace.
