Peace, I have grown tired of repeating myself and the Local Bodegas clearly LISTEN only when they see me coming. I travel extensively through all 4 sides of the city and there is NO respect for law and right. The issue is internal but the correction must be internal and external. As I told a few of the store owners I know its easy and saves U money but it is unsanitary and disrespectful to SERVE anyone without gloves and proper head wear. It also is a disgrace and causes health issues to allow all of the dam flies to be/remain in all of the stores. Flies all over and touching food and food prep areas, this is unhealthy and unacceptable. Now as I told the owner many of the people in the communities they serve have NO where else to go. Yet, that does NOT give U the right to treat them as if they are substandard. They deserve high quality service and will receive it or there will be a penalty. I will be addressing this issue at City Council tomorrow and work with the City Inspectors to rectify this situation. Again, I have NOTHING against the store owners but part of our revitalization is fighting for right and demanding better by being better. We allow people to TREAT us any kind of way, and we have to do better with that. This is one aspect of WHY deaths occur here and there is NO outcry, we have low or no self worth. We have tried ignorance for a thousand years. Its time we try education.-Jocelyn Elders. Peace!
