Peaces Adventure Walk: Hi Josh! Today I was able to take a two year old hound mix out of the shelter and out to Robious Landing Park. Peace was suggested by the staff at the shelter because he will literally jump straight into the air several feet need to the top of his kennel. He has a lot of energy and a lot of smarts and they thought that he would really enjoy a hike. They were so right. Peace watched me from the kennel and let me leash him up. We went outside and to the parking lot. He was immediately ready to get in the car but wasnt sure which one! I guided him to my car and he jumped into the back seat. After sniffing around he climbed into the front seat happy to go wherever I wanted. He loved the ride. When we got out of the car I could tell this boy was just as smart as he was active so we did a few things to exercise his mind. I had him jump up on tree stumps and picnic tables and sit for me which he did very well. He was very photogenic and loved having his picture taken. We walked a few miles on the trail and went check out the river as well. While he isnt afraid to go in the water and likes to drink from it but isnt a big fan of swimming. Peace is great with the kids and other dogs we passed. At one point he got very adventurous and went past me to a big, slopey hill. He jumped down different levels of hill and into a very muddy area of the river. He had a lot of fun sitting around and checking out the other wildlife. At no point did he pull me on the leash. Peace is very well behaved and clearly had just as much fun getting affection is being out. Hes a beautiful boy looking for a loving forever home. I just know that he will make the right family so very happy. Thank you so much for letting Peace out of the shelter today. I know that he enjoyed it very much.
