Pearl Of A Great Price Again, the kingdom of heaven is like - TopicsExpress

Pearl Of A Great Price Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 13:45-46). Ofcourse we all know that salvation cannot be earned with money or anything no matter how costly be it gold or diamond. It is a gift of God. We cannot earn it with our good works or efforts. For by grace we are saved through faith. Then, what did Christ meant when He said, Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. You see, when a man/woman genuinely meets Christ, nothing else trully matter to him again. Christ becomes the center of his life. He no longer have his own agenda. He forgoes every other thing that can hamper his new found experience. Apostle Paul said, Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus: for whom I have suffered loss of all things, and count them but dung, that I may win Christ (Philippians 3:8). When a man or woman, boy or girl genuinely found Christ, his/her approach to the pursuit of the things of this world takes a new dimension. The things that used to appeal him to no longer appeal to him again. His taste changes. His language changes. His desires takes a new shape. His ambitions and aspiration are all surrendered at the foot of the Cross. They become Father, not mine will, but thine will be done. This is what Jesus Christ was talking about. We cannot pursue this world and pursue Christ at the same time. We cannot serve two masters at the same time. We cannot serve God and mammon at the same time. No wonder the power and the presence of God is fast evaporating from the Church. The Church is filled with people that profess to know God with their lips, but their mind is on money, silver, gold, and the material things of this world. Beloved, one must surrender or bow for the other. Lets go back to the altar. Lets go back to Bethel where we first met God. Lets forgo every other thing for the surpassing glory of knowing Christ like Paul. Always remain rapturable!
