Peggy J Stubbs Tiffany Stubbs Kevin McGuire this is the village where Im staying. The photo is from the hawkwatch looking west, a short 5 minute walk to the village. The mountains are on the right to the north. Im in the second highest building from the top. The top building is a private residence. The village is 10-15 years old and is being built by the locals brick by brick. They carry supplies up the Mtn on donkeys, and have made great progress in the last year. The building Im in is the most recent constructed and has electricity and hot water, but no heat. The village is broken up into camps, and each camp has a separate dining room attached. All the dining rooms have wifi. The food is better at the more primitive camps so we sneak over for lunch every day, which cost about 5 dollars for a very large meal. The food is authentic. My favorites so far are the chicken dumplings which they call chicken momo and vegetarian macaroni. And apple pie of course. There is livestock, goats, chickens, and other animals casually walking about, and they arent for decoration. I dont think Ive eaten one of the kittens yet. There is plenty of booze if you want it. I ran out of mouthwash so Ive been using rum and honey which they have tons of. Thoolahkarka is a first stop for Trekkers on the way to Annapurna which is the gateway to Mt. Everest. And raptor enthusiast from around the world come to watch the eagles. Ill try to get a panorama of the village with the mtns. to the north so you can see them in relation to each other. The second attached photo is looking south from the hawkwatch. And the birds use the updrafts to gain height and head westward, some as far as Madagascar.
