Pensacola City Councilman Brian Spencer spoke today to about two dozen black pastors at their weekly meeting. One thing he spoke to them about was his passion for education and how he and his wife Crystal helped create and support the Bernard M. Shuford/Mary L. Matthews General Scholarship Fund at Houser Memorial AME Zion Church. It recently awarded scholarships to Kaylyn Neal (South Alabama), Aaliyah Mays (Florida State) and Theamad Thomas (UWF). We wanted to make a difference, Spencer said.
