People, I notice that a lot of content is being written about the recent Vibgyor school rape. Someone has even shared the profile of the alleged rapist of the child. A word of caution here. Notwithstanding what is stated by the Bangalore Police, please note that he is only a suspect and nothing more. Given the high profile media coverage of this incident, the Police are under tremendous pressure to identify someone as the perpetrator of the ghastly crime, and it may well be just that! We are practically conducting a trial by Facebook! Please beware! What if he is actually innocent of the crime, and has been simply named due to the pressure? There are 25-27 other gym instructors! To say that he should be hanged, castrated et all may not be appropriate at this stage. Evidence has to be collected, trial has to commence, judgment has to be given, fast-track or otherwise! My only intention is to caution everyone to not prejudge the matter. As much as the child and her parents need every bit of help, advise, handholding and justice, we should not lose sight of the accuseds rights as well. He is just that, an accused, and nothing more at this stage! What if he is acquitted of the crime? His entire name, family, reputation is gone forever! The bottom-line, caution! Vent your feeling, but consider twice before posting something!
