People Suck. You might be wondering why I put that into quotations. First, its not meant to be directed at a single Person this is why the term People is used, to recognize that its more than one person. More, its a set of people, namely groups. What Im referring t is the Clique mentality and why people ultimately suck. The sad part of it is, it isnt even their fault, its hard-wired into them. When a person is in their group of friends, comrades, whatever it may be, the psyche of those people turns to that of the Clique mentality. That mentality being that those people in that particular group, or Clique, are all that really matter, and anybody outside of that are considered to be lesser than that of the others. The way our psyches have developed over the last decades have been almost nurtured into this exact mentality. Maybe Im just a different type of person, but whenever I meet somebody new and am in any kind of group, I go out of my way to make sure that person feels welcomed, that they belong. Unfortunately for many, if not most situations, its quite the opposite. And what is sad is that people dont even realize that theyre doing it. Our psyches have been trained to clique off and segregate ourselves, as has been seen throughout history, and is still extremely prevalent even today. Now this may not come when youre one on one with a person, as you may expect. For example, I can talk to one person and theyre genuine, thoughtful, and polite. Once their clique arrives however, it becomes a completely different situation. Ive seen this happen many times over the last several years. Even in the past few weeks, I can name a few instances in which it happens. The funny thing is, if you throw a bunch of complete strangers together, this doesnt happen. Not right away at least. What has happened to the human race as a form of intelligence? Are we really still that primal? That stupid? If you made it all the way to the end of this, thanks for reading.
