People are always asking “How Can I Help?” Here are some suggestions: 1. SPAY AND NEUTER your pets, urge your friends, family and neighbors to spay and neuter to control the exploding unwanted animal population. 2. ADOPT: Be a responsible pet owner. When choosing to adopt a pet, research your breed, educate yourself on some training techniques, know how to introduce a new pet to your home. And know that pets are a lifelong responsibility. Contact us at fjcasp@aol for more information. 3. FOSTER: One of the most rewarding things you will ever do is foster a rescued animal and know that your effort saved that animals’ life. Contact us at fosterforfriends@aol to find out how. 4. VOLUNTEER / TRANSPORT: We desperately need volunteers who can help with fundraisers, adoption events, media, advertising, education opportunities, website development and upkeep, etc. Contact volunteerforfriends@aol to sign up. Always needing folks to help with transport of animals, locally and cross country. You will see requests on our FB page or contact fjcasp@aol to sign-up. 5. DONATE: As a non-profit, all volunteer rescue organization, we are completely dependent on donations to continue our rescue work. We use funds for pull fees, vet and medical expenses, supplies, food and transport of animals. You can give in several ways: a. We have a PayPal account under fjcasp@gmail where you can give monetary donations. All proceeds go directly to rescue animals. b. You can donate to our Friends account at Bienville Animal Clinic in Ocean Springs (call 228-872-1231). Due to the generosity of Bienville and Dr. Duke we bring most of our animals there for care. c. You can purchase items we need on our Amazon wish list that will ship directly to us at amazon/registry/wishlist/MFPBCNL6L3N8/ 6. ADVOCATE: Call your local and state representatives and urge them to direct more funds to our local shelters, ask them to enact or strengthen spay/neuter and breeding laws, leash laws, animal cruelty, hoarding and puppy mill laws. Contact us at volunteerforfriends@aol with ideas and to sign-up!
