People ask me why I do not respond to so much of the lunacy, heresy and just plain bad theology posted and reposted here on these pages; well the reasons are pretty simple actually: First you cannot argue a point that someone holds even if it is wrong by correcting them in a few sentences, it requires many conversations and time. Second, those who proclaim this lunacy will not understand and probably just call you names, so why do that. Third and most importantly so often these posts reflect a deeply held if misguided understanding of scripture and doctrine containing only half truths, which too often reflect an image of God that reflects the speakers image of what they want God to be and say. When this happens to challenge this is folly until the appropriate time and place. Lastly I am not so arrogant to think that I understand God wholly and completely, what I will do is to try and take the totality of scripture as my guide and source instead of simply using platitudes and the pieces I like to make a sweeping theological and position statement.
