People continue to unintentionally denigrate sharks as potential mankillers In this example from a few days ago, a swimmer was crossing Cook Strait in New Zealand, and part way into his 16 mile challenge, it is claimed a Great White Shark started to follow him. Then dolphins rallied around to protect him. Id like to point out that if the Great White really wanted to attack him, it would have. And before the swimmer knew about it. In reality the shark was just curious. Eventually it got bored watching him and swam off. That dolphins rallied around and protected him makes good copy, but Id suggest this is just more people propagating the myth that sharks are dangerous to humans, when in fact they are not.
