People from one part of the political spectrum feel that there should be nothing society or the government ought to do to help one avoid consequences of bad decisions. If corporations are people, then the government ought not to provide any money to them in tax breaks and subsidies; and if corporations are people, the people who run them ought to be personally liable for any harms that come out of the decisions of that corporation. This is one reason why corporate personhood is idiotic.
