People keep telling me about this light at the end of the tunnel. Something about the darkness being something we must accept in order to reach this incredible bright end. “The light at the end of the tunnel.” I nod my head okay and in my heart, know it’s the robotic answer we’ve all learned at some point in our lives. It is, after all, the vision we need to survive the corruptions we see in our everyday worlds. We have to believe in something ahead to make everything we’re stuck dealing with everyday, worth it. So I thought about the tunnel and pretended to believe in it. Then I had to drive through one and something happened. The tunnel had light and it made no sense seeing something so backwards. Tunnels are supposed to be dark and I’m seeing too much of something we know as light. I was told the light came after the dark. I never thought, the light was in fact, inside all the dark. So I came up with the tale of the two sides to everything and I decided that fate was in fact, always in my own hands. Things can always go one of two ways, the good way, and the bad. How they turn out though, which route we take, what light and dark exists, that’s us. Not life, us.
