People like to believe in absolutes. Us and them. Black and white. Good and bad. But life is not that simple and nothing is absolute. We can surround ourselves with people and ideas that support our POV in order to feel right and therefore righteous, but then we miss out on the opportunity to see things from other perspectives. Yes, I have strongly held beliefs, but they are strong enough that I dont need them to be confirmed by others and they are flexible enough to allow for the distinct possibility that I may not be completely right and sometimes I may be completely wrong. There is no us and them, there is only us. There is no black or white, there is the absence or the spectrum of color and everything that lies in between. Good and bad are defined by our perspectives. Ultimately, we all want the same thing, to love and be loved unconditionally. The more we let go of the need to be right and the more we spread our minds, hearts and arms wide open, the richer and more beautiful life becomes. I dont need to be right. I dont have to win. I just want to be kind. Judge less, love more. Wash, rinse, repeat. Viva la difference. #madgeisms
