People might be interested in this event at the Miners Hall, Redhills, Durham Wednesday evening (beginning at 6pm). It promises to be a fascinating and inspiring evening: Women in Struggle - 30 years on: Women Against the Pit Closures to Marikana This event focuses on the role of women in the 1984-85 Miners Strike and the continuing legacy of that struggle, both in terms of the womens movement and the international struggle for justice. The event will be formed of three parts: Firstly, a film of the Women Against Pit Closures (WAPC) march in London during the strike Secondly, A talk about the recent killing of South African miners by Margaret Renn, with her photographs and pictures of the Marikana widows. Thirdly, a presentation from One For All Productions on their oral history project with individuals from the WAPC. Please join us for a lively and thought provoking session, moving from the history of WAPC to issues with a real contemporary resonance. Committee Room 1 6pm All welcome
