People might find this of interest to anyone is interested in race relations or whiteness studies. While some of the comments are revealing of how people frame and understand race in America, a big flaw in this project is the lack of detail (as in no detail I can find) they provide for the background of the participants. There is no way to contextualise peoples statements without speculation. For instance some of the older men would have experienced economic/industry restructuring, union busting and decline in American empire, at the same time as the civil rights movements concluded and then the increased rights for minorities. A few seemingly misrecognise job scarcity with equal opportunities for minorities. But this cant really be explored without that background, which might indicate a flaw in conceptualising race relations in this way, that racism is just ignorant ideas. Anyway, I thought a few might enjoy this.
