People need to be educated on the many diversities of rain forests. Most importantly is how the forests filter out greenhouse gases and replace it with fresh air! If you want clean air, the rainforests are our planets own mechanism created by God to ensure clean, sweet breathable air is kept in balance to sustain our precious earth forever. South America has been hit hard on deforestation by farmers and corporations. Between 40% - 60% of the Amazon rain forest has been destroyed over the course of only 40 yrs!!!!! We are killing ourselves and any future of survival when air giving rain forests are destroyed. I challenge you to do your own research on this topic. Its probably worse now than when I last did a report for my biology college class 30 years ago. Sad, just so sad that people dont have the brains or education to see the urgency of the big picture of world environment related to how and why rainforests sustain this world!
