People need to understand Catholic is Christian. They were formed at the same exact time and their deity is Jesus. Catholicism adopts native pagan ways that Eurocentric Christians called evil. -- when Christian settlers seen natives that were without christ, they called them savages and their ways evil, and through genocide and slavery, Christianity is the predominant religion here on the N. Continent. Meanwhile, on the S. Continent. You have Spaniard invading conquistadors and soldiers of Christ. As they committed genocide and enslaved there, they also adopted many native ways because they eventually coexisted with the natives. This is why most South American/Mexicans are Catholic. Plus, they actually made use of the teachings they learned to better their home country (not that they didnt pillage their teachings) Catholic is Christianity -- but with pagan ways. It is Universally Christian. Whereas Christianity is soley in following of the annointed one. or Christ like it was initially promoted. Youll notice more prayer toward saints and Jesus disciples, rather than just Jesus, alone. And you may not even know it, but there is a large chunk of Catholicism you adopted that you dont even know of, yet u continue to slander. If you celebrate LENT prior to Easter, you are celebrating a pagan way of Mexican natives. But its just highly misunderstood in these modern times.
