Pyin Oo Lwin, June 9 During her address to the locals in Pyin Oo Lwin on June 9th, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of the National League for Democracy (NLD), asserted that people of different skin colors, religions, and nationalities should not be categorized as enemies. “We don’t take professing different religions as a fault. We can deal with all problems by building an understanding of each other,” suggested the NLD chairperson. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi included in her speech that the amplification of religious conflicts in Myanmar resulted from a lack of order and justice, and underlying weaknesses in the government’s response. In order to solve this strife, both parties need to show tolerance towards one another, and every citizen should understand each other, stated Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi further persuaded the government to reconsider the conditions of the emergency statements issued in conflict-stricken areas. Moreover, she claimed during the trip that she would help retrieve the residences of the inhabitants in Mya Yee Nandar. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi not only gave a speech in her Pyin Oo Lwin trip, but also answered five questions from the locals.
