People often ask me, How can I improve my English? I recommend many things, but one is to write on various topics, send the writing to me, and then have me make corrections and send them back. Today, I am going to share a story about the things my family has been doing over the years. Its been nine years now that we have been serving good food to poor people. Every year at least once during the month of Ramadan we try to make food for the poor. The food is not only for Muslims but is for anyone too poor to afford a good meal. When we do this, we are busy preparing food the whole day, from morning until sunset. It is hard to prepare so much food, so we all make it a holiday and dont go to work or classes. All of our family members help each other to prepare different dishes. Its like a festival for us. After we finish, its time to share the food among the poor, so we take it to our mosque. We ask the people to sit in a circle. When we serve the food and see their smiles, it feels like the best thing that could ever happen: by sharing happiness, you can gain inner peace. Nothing can make you happier. We eat our food beside them. If people practice such equality for one day, it doesn’t make a big difference to the world. But if everyone took turns to try to provide food at least one day every year, that could help make the world can be a better and happier place for all.
