People often ask me Rob why you smile and giggle so much like there is nothing wrong. Ok sit down, read this and Ill tell you why. On this day 4 years ago, while I was working at Success Academy, approximately 7 days after turning 31 years old, my life would change in a matter of seconds. I remember it just as plain as day, I was sitting talking and joking with a student, and I felt very light headed and dizzy, I shook it off, but it just kept on coming. As I was walking down the hallway, I noticed my leg went limp. To keep from falling I leaned to the wall for support, just to make it to a chair. I called my dude Christopher Mitchell, and at this point my left leg, and left arm went numb, I mean nooooooo feeling. My watch anchored me down, and I needed Chris to take it off. I placed my finger in my leg as it went through, the hole stayed as my finger left an indentation in my leg like dough. My heart rate increased and at this point I was disoriented. I forgot three things; where I was at, who I was married to, and my momma name (scary huh), I couldnt speak, and as I was going to the hospital I felt my face twitch. Well an hour later I was told what I didnt wanna hear Mr. Hardin you have suffered a minor stroke. Like whoa ME NOOOOOO Im just 31 years old, for real. My blood pressure was 217/162, and it wasnt pretty. I remember telling Chris before I left Dont tell Terri Clark, cause she would freak. Through prayers and supplication here I stand 4 years to the date and my blood pressure has been normal every since. While I was in the hospital my mom said a prayer over the phone, and when she ended she said Punkin you need to rest now, and my pressure began to drop instantly. You see people thats why I smile, laugh, and enjoy life, because life is like a bubble on the water, a vapor, and can go just as quick as it comes. My life flashed before my eyes, and the God I serve (now the tears are forming) said My work was not completed so before you look at the finished painting, I encourage you to smell the oils before the painting dry, so you can get a full understanding of why people are who they are, all paths have Rocky, rough, and scary sides, but the smooth sides are always nearby.
