People sometimes tell me I come off like Im a know it all and that they think my posts are aimed at making people feel stupid. I disagree. Im very open minded to differing stances and viewpoints, Im just not trading in my understanding of things for yours if you cant articulate why your stance is more valid or accurate than the one I currently abide by. What I think and believe are very important to me and I study and analyze things as objectively as possible to ensure that I remain rational and open-minded. However, I value my mind far to much to allow any and every idle thought of a friend or stranger to influence my thinking. Make a rational, clear, accurate, and valid point or Im ignoring what you think. If you cant clearly spell out what you think and why you think it, why on Earth would I ever consider trading in my carefully structured, analyzed, and refined conclusions for your barely thought out musings? Im not basing my worldview off of anyones feelings and intuitions. Im going to base my worldview on logic, reason, science, study, and fact. If youd like to join me in seeking out accuracy, objectivity, and truth, Im more than happy to explore the possibilities with you. But dont tell me Im wrong, insult me, and then offer me no reason as to why you think Im wrong, and why you think youre right. I dont care what you think just because you feel strongly about it. Nope nope nope.
