People who pray to Jesus and live a happy life are content and usually good people. People who pray to Allah and live a happy life are content and usually good people. People who meditate and live a happy life are content and usually good people. People who do none of the above except indirectly use their dreams as the only source of introspection and spiritual connection and live a happy life are content and usually good people. If you think about the thousands of spiritual practices, or even just the 17 major religions, around the world, they all basically say the same thing. Its because of the simultaneous progression of human thinking worldwide that we all created different definitions and ideas about the same exact thing around the same exact times, thanks to great spiritual teachers like Christ and Siddhartha and Muhammad. We hold ourselves back by worshiping these enlightened masters instead of learning their lessons. Each one of them made direct connections with God and built a following for their ability. Christ wasnt a Christian, Muhammad was no Muslim, and Siddhartha wasnt a Buddhist. Their religion, the only true religion, was love. Instead of following in their footsteps, our job is to make our own connections and learn our own lessons through our own experiences, while paying homage to these great people. Prayer and meditation opens the doorway to a higher consciousness, but the problem with most prayer is you spend your whole time talking, talking, talking to something, instead of listening...and if you listen long enough, you will establish a connection. This is meditation. Learn what you can and practice in your own ways. And love each other, incessantly. Because that is how you reach your idea of heaven.
