Per Elisha Brestovansky: 20 random things about myself - 1. I have a closeted love of interior design, in particular British wallpaper and anything with bird silhouettes. 2. I can do SO MUCH MORE than I am employed to do. A sad but frequent disconnect in society these days, I am afraid. Underemployment, that is. 3. My favorite colors are green for leaves and blue for sky and water. They play especially well together. It’s no wonder. 4. I can eat fire, pack a car for a road trip like Martha Stewart, draw, caulk and paint like a mofo, sew curtains, make plants sing, upcycle furniture, and learn to do anything I choose, reasonably well. 5. Currently, I have a dirndl pseudo-fetish. Alps fashion is cranking me up. Ahhh, Bavaria. It’s why I have flower boxes on my windows. 6. Diverse, ethical, tolerant, creative, industrious, honest, and unique people inspire me. Therefore I love Ted Talks, NPR, PBS, and FB. I look for common ground, not bases for judgment. Judgers and haters bore me - they are impoverished inside – I feel sorry for them. 7. I rarely get lost because of my powerful sense of direction and my navigational skills. 8. I was raised a Baptist but as I aged, my skepticism deepened and now I am proud to call myself an Atheist. Superstitions have been laid plain to me, I will not buy a lottery ticket, nor will I govern my life by one people’s dogmatic story (from days of yore). 9. There is a new young custodian at work who is the only other person I ever heard whistle like my grandfather. It’s magical. I hope the lad never stops. Nobody better complain. 10. I do my own French manicures and I like being dominated but not controlled. 11. I have 20-10 vision and a steady hand. Shoulda been an assassin. 12. If you’re full of marlarky I will see right through you even though I act like I don’t. If we have to spend significant time together your gaming will likely be called out. It will not be pretty. 13. I am trying to improve my handwriting and increase my recreational reading because I think it will help me stay calm and focused in my work on the CPA exam. 14. A few of my favorite things are raspberries, big Maxfield Parish skies, Jim’s crows feet when he smiles, project flow (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)) and doing a creative project at night to compelling music, such as the anything by Robbie Robertson and the albums ‘Songs from Stamford Hill’ (1999) by Wood (aka James Maddock) or Industry Not Standard (2013) by Wood. And Sean Colvin’s ‘Fat City’ or ‘Steady On’ or ‘Cover Girl’. Actually, this sub-list is WAY LONG. 15. I moved 30 times by the time I was 30. One day my husband asked me to make a list. It’s true. I wonder if that’s why I have to re-arrange my furniture every so often or I get restless and edgy. 16. Being an artist and an accountant are not mutually exclusive pursuits. People who have witnessed my uncanny ability to find and route out glitchy problems and doggedly solve them know that I have found my calling in auditing and accounting. 17. Few lists of mine can be made without the name ‘Jim’ somewhere on it. 18. My poisons are good Gin, Vodka, Chianti, Champagne, or Pinot Gris. Or beer with toasty caramel notes or pumpkin pie-spiced notes. 19. I have many varied potentials inside of me that I have grand plans for rolling out. Time is on my side and fire is in my heart. Every day, I’m working my plans and letting the chips fall where they may.
