Perfect and beautiful Gods according to Greek mythology but not merciful, compassionate or just. Can you possibly imagine what the Greeks and Romans thought of these little peasant people in The Land of Canaan or Judea believed? These nutty people preached that there was only one God who taught love and justice and had the unmittigated gall to stand up to Rome who had Gladiators sent to fight lions as entertainment. They believed in a kind of socialism and that all were equal, while the Romans who were all powerful believed in to the victor belonged the spoils and they raided all of the known world at the time and took the people as slaves. The greatest preacher/ teacher of all time a Jew by the name of Yeshua was a danger to that known order. He would not bow down to Roman Gods or to the Greek Herod who the Romans set up as a puppet King, no this preacher of love, mercy, and Justice had to go in the usual way_ on a cricifix. Little did they know that when they dispersed so many of these Israelites to the rest of the world the Judeo/ Christian message would be adopted by so many of the worlds populations. Thank you to Jesus/ Yeshua and to all of his followers.
