Perhaps I love dogs, because I can truly relate to them. All strangers are enemies until proven friendly. They will be treated respectfully, unless they encroach upon my territory. It takes a while to earn my trust and my love. When you enter my life, and I find you friendly, I will still walk around you cautiously, sniffing you out until I am reassured you are here to stay. When you are determined to be a good, permanent addition, I will show endless affection, many times through playful "love bites." I will protect my loved ones and would do anything for them, even if it means jumping in front of danger to save them. Loyalty is my strongest trait. Once you have befriended me, I will always take your side. You may hurt me and beat me, but for some reason, I will keep coming back to you. I will keep trying to please you, even if receive 99 harsh reactions, I will continue until I get that one reward. I am submissive to my master, but love to lead my pack. And like any animal, I can be cute and cuddly, or a blur of angry fangs and claws coming for your face. So choose who you want me as, because I become who your actions and reactions have trained me to be.
