Perhaps a dumb question, but when has that ever stopped - TopicsExpress

Perhaps a dumb question, but when has that ever stopped me... My auto-insurer has an option to go electronic only (and I can always print out a copy)... but say I get pulled over by a fine officer of the law, and I am asked for my insurance... and I hand him/her my phone... =/ Am I inherently giving the officer permission to go through my phone? What if they take it to his car and runs some information... am I able to hand them my license but only show him/her my phone insurance ID card? Finally, if somehow they are able to take my phone... is it wise to just make it my lock screen-saver... or (and I own an iPhone but by no means am i an iPhone guru..) is there an app/photo-viewer or built int.,.. where I can lock it to display an image? Im probably better off going with hard-copy paper... but just curious as to what consent I am giving if I did chose to utilize the insurance mobile app?
