Perhaps the real reason they’re snatching up privately held land is to help enact the cleverly packaged Agenda 21 movement, also known as the “sustainable development movement.” Agenda 21 is based on the premise that the human population is rapidly destroying the Earth, and our activity (read… living) needs to be tightly regulated and controlled. The idea with Agenda 21 is that unless land is set aside for protection, we will overrun the world and hurt the earth.
