Personal message from: Captain Jason Kravetz, LBPD To: The Laguna Board of REALTORS® and Affiliates Monday, September 23, 2013 As you have all learned, we lost one of our best and brightest yesterday morning in a very tragic accident at Cleo Street and South Coast Highway. Officer Jon Coutchie had only been with us for the last four years, but he made a phenomenal impact on the community during this short time. Prior to this, Jon was a dedicated U.S. Army Ranger who served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of you have reached out to me personally to ask how to pay your respects. There are two memorials set up to honor Jon. One is at the intersection I listed. The second is within the front lobby of the Police Department where citizens have been leaving cards and flowers. If any of you pass by the Police Department, the employees would truly appreciate you taking a quick look at Jon’s photo and reading the notes left for him. Just a simple “hello” goes a long towards our healing right now. We are hurting, but will slowly recover with the assistance of all these fantastic community members.
