Personally, I would have written out the tag prior to needing to call the officer in. They were given proper direction by 3 - 4 Park Agents, and that wasnt good enough? Write them a tag, and let them go on their merry way... Brian shouldnt even had to be called in, but were because the guys with signs and t-shrits have an overinflated sense of entitlement. That ordinance has been used for years, and I personally have had to deal with people from different parties, who were not aware. Most of them, despite being shocked, just followed the directions of the Minneapolis Park Police Department. The idea is that it is a park for everyone to come and enjoy, when you start allowing people to start soliciting, it changes the environment. I get and understand if people do not like certain laws and ordinances, but they are there. There is a park board, made up of elected officials, and the ordinances can be changed. Those jackwagons refused to follow the same rules that all organizations are required to do so - follow the park ordinances. They had 4 Park Agents (Who are a part of the Minneapolis Park Police Department), and their word was not good enough. Instead of using that cell phone to call the Park Board, and ask if they really needed one, they picked a fight. A licensed officer then had to come down and deal with this overly simple issue, and instead of listening to the officer, they deliberately tried to provoke the situation. I guess this is one way to get TV time...
