Peter Gaytan, executive director of the Legion’s D.C. office, will accompany House Committee on Veterans Affairs Chairman Jeff Miller and Rep. Gregg Harper on a congressional oversight visit to the Jackson, Miss., VA Medical Center and Regional Office. The oversight visit comes after a series of whistleblower complaints from Jackson VAMC employees to independent federal watchdog Office of Special Counsel that have raised concerns about poor sterilization procedures, understaffing and misdiagnoses at the facility.
