He loved playing golf, tennis, dominoes, and reading about his favorite subject, history. He was an avid member of the Washington Athletic Club, Outrigger Canoe Club, The Pacific Club, Waialae Country Club, and Round Hill Country Club. In addition to his career and family, he served with Aloha United Way, Junior Achievement, and The Boy Scouts of America, and on the Board of the San Francisco Symphony. Thinking big and working hard were the only tools one needed for success and he enjoyed serving as a mentor for many. He will be greatly missed, but has left a lasting legacy. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2039 Mt Diablo Blvd, Walnut Creek, on October 9, 2013 at 10am.
