Peter and the church, vis a vis development in anambra state(a response to a post on facebook): My brethren, I am forced to comment on this for the benefit of the state. To be patriotic is to pay loyalty to state and help as much as necessary to improve the state. One could ask if our different posts here are beneficial, i would definitely say yes because in critical and unrelaxed moments, one tends to attain a higher level of operation. But one thing is certain in criticism, while others criticize out of the love they have for the state and the society, other people will tend do it for the sake of criticism, others also end up in building up some level of importance on themselves(selfish interest). As such, in our critical write up, one can discern immediately the camp of the writer. Some people always end up in committing some logical fallacies while others go on arguing in an ignorant way. In the case at hand of Peter Obi reinforcing the Church owned investments for the end of accomplishing the development required in the state. Going across the history of the Southern Eastern Zone, One would quickly realize that the church through the catholic missionaries from Ireland and the CMS from England came in through river Niger and their aim is to bring people closer to Christ. Christ as they viewed it is a sum of Christian perfection-perfection in the world which will lead one to Heaven. To accomplish this task, many strategic means were put in place like schools and hospitals, even through agriculture. The advent of the RNC-Royal Niger Company in Nigeria has a sole aim of trading. This company develop themselves to become the colonial master in Nigeria. They have nothing in mind than to exploit us and carry away the raw materials in our land for their own good. They even took away our gods and sold it handsomely in Europe. It was after the war in which the Church played a greater role in reconstructing, rehabilitating and rebuilding the people, that these means of evangelisation was taken away from the Church by Ukpabi. The character of decadence in the education sector began to manifest on that take over of the school by the government. This could be seen in the people who studied before the war and those who went through our school some years after the war. One may not forget about the Caritas aircraft which conveyed relief material to the biafran camp through Uli route. After all these historical, can one still question the handover of schools to the Church? Or question Governor Obis character of stabilizing the schools and the hopital in order to serve the aim which it was initially meant for? If any of you has gone to St. Pius Akwukwus farm you will not but recognize this effort of Obi to encourage agriculture in the state. As it stands now, the piggery farm in Akwukwu is taken be the largest and highest piggery farm in the state. Giving them the token of 40million naira is way to boost the state indirectly because that farm will surely provide job opportunities to people and as well feed the state and also stabilize the economy of the state. Let me quickly add that the church is a trustable society in one way or the other even though human weakness can play a role, the church may not account for 100% perfection. The Church underlines the first principle of morality. They recognize that man should do good and avoid evil. Such dictum rings in their brain always because their master(Jesus) is perfect. Those who stand for the Church struggle in all effort to be perfect even when they fall several times. The recognition of this fact by Obis administration has gone a long way to invest in the Church as it is a nice place where corruption and certain embezzling attitudes are seen less. For instance, one can be frightened to give a contract to an ordinary contractor. sometimes, there are always a delay in carrying out duty assigned to them. Sometimes, we hear about embezzlement of funds, but such situation may not be seen with those who stand for the Church. They always call to mind of helping Gods kingdom on earth to grow. It is always a situation in hand that warrants such situation. Since, it is hard for people to fulfill their demands to the state because of the excessive approach to corruption, Peter deemed it fit to change to another strategy of involving to church to accomplish effectively and quickly the development of the state especially as it concerns schools, farms, and even hospitals. Peter Obi is a wise man but since Man is not a perfect being, Peter has his own faults which Obiano should strive to correct for the betterment of the state at large. Thank you and God bless you always. I believe that not everybody will accept this view to be true, be it as it may we upholds to our own opinion and views, to be the true and correct unless you find meaning and conviction in this.
