Petrol-bombed: Health Department HQ; & Vulcania Reinforced Windows Co. Pretoria: July 2 2014 - Reported by journalist Nico Strydom, 2 July 2014 of Afriforums Maroela Media online publication. -- The entrance to the health departments building in Pretoria CBD was petrol-bombed, their spokesman confirmed. Joe Maila told Maroela Media that nobody was injured. He said one man threw the molotov-cocktail and the SAPS confirmed that security personnel have arrested a suspect, 54.SAPS lt-col Lungela Dlamini said the building was evacuated of all occupants as a precaution while the fire was doused.The man is expected to be charged with arson. The motive is unknown. The Pretoria fire department spokesman Johan Pieterse said when their tenders arrived the fire was already put out. The fire created huge traffic problems in the CBD. The attack occurred on the first day of the National Union of Metal Workers strike during which they targeted local companies - one of which was also petrolbombed. Businesses in downdown Alberton also were badly damaged by rampaging peaceful strikers. The company spokesman posted a video on YouTube, expressing their outrage about the violence and sabotage which had targeted their companys property and workers vehicles.
