Phew! Another long day rigging the fencing on corral panels in the effort to create an impregnable goat pen. When all the panels were rigged, I turned Her Highness, Princess Leia, into the pen and waited to see what would happen. It took her about 15 minutes to get out. [“The Force is strong with this one.” – Yoda] In doing so, she made the huge tactical error of showing me a vulnerability in my design [sort of like designing one exhaust port that leads to the core of your Death Star]. There was a dip in the ground under one of the 12-foot panels, and between the dip and the fact that the fencing was unsupported at the bottom, she squeezed out. Now I’ve got you, Princess! Bwah-ha-ha!! A piece of wood to reinforce the fencing in the middle was all that it took to make the prison inescapable, and as of this morning – she is still trapped in there. [Am I somehow a lesser man in that I take great pleasure in outsmarting a goat??] In a few minutes, I’ll leave to drive to Athens (the one in Texas – not the ones in Greece or Georgia) to pick up Leia’s new buddy, who will be renamed “Luke Skywalker.” Hopefully, Leia will be comforted in her imprisonment by his presence. The adventure continues – and may the Force be with you.
