Phew, a really rough night with Charli. Almost called the ambulance. It is so hard to know what is wrong when she cannot tell you. After talking with her neurosurgeon he suggested to continue pain meds until he can see her Monday morning. He didnt think she was in shunt failure so he wanted to avoid the germ fest of the ER at all costs. Fortunately she was able to fall asleep at 1:30 and woke up feeling better this morning. Perhaps the shunt pressure was causing discomfort because of the weather pressure change? If so, he can try to do an adjustment. If not, facing another surgery. I hate hydrocephalus. I hate that she has to suffer so much. It tears my heart out to watch her go through this all the time. When she woke up this morning with her crazy bed head hair and gave me the biggest Shirley Temple smile and said I sorry my heart melted. She is such a blessing. I told her there was nothing to be sorry about and gave her a kiss on her forehead. I dont think she was apologizing for all the screaming and crying and tears. I dont think she has that concept. Maybe it was just an angel message.
