Phil Is At It Again: As unbelievable as it may seem, Phil is at it again. Phil has placed the $8,000,000 of taxpayer money back in the 2014-15 budget for the YMCA…but the story gets worse. What Phil is not telling you is that there is interest on the bonds that the county is obligating us for and the actual cost is almost $12,000,000 when the bonds are retired. This will include the YMCA portion of the loan and the County’s portion of the loan and interest. So let’s see, first he was for it…then he was against it…now he is for it again. Poor leadership…poor planning…poor decisions…that is Phil. Also, I want to be clear on this issue. I am supportive of the YMCA and I feel that they do terrific work. However, that said, I do not feel like public money should be spent on a private entity. I am very supportive of helping the YMCA raise money from private individuals, businesses and the community at large but I philosophically am opposed to funding it with taxpayer money. Robert Buckey
