Philip H. Anselmo&the Illegals have just announced a North American tour, dubbed the‘Technicians of Distortion’trek. The summer tour will also feature Author&Punisher along withWarbeast, who recently released a split EP with Anselmo. Phil Anselmohas received massive acclaim for his work withPantera,Down, Superjoint Ritual and for his innumerable collaborations with fellow musicians. Moving into yet another new dimension, the vocalist’s solo project, Philip H. Anselmo&the Illegals, is set to release its first album,‘Walk Through Exits Only,’on July 16 via Anselmo’s own label, Housecore Records. Anselmo released the disc’s first single,‘Usurper Bastard’s Rant,’on May 13, and now you’ll be able to check out the new material live and in person. “It is an incredible pleasure to do my first solo tour with my brothers in Warbeast and to introduce the mighty Author and Punisher to the Exrteme Music audience properly,”says Anselmo in a press release. ”This is a killer program of insane variety, so come out and support the gigs!!!!” During our 2013 Revolver Golden Godsinterviewwith Phil Anselmo, he spoke about his new‘Illegals’offering.“I wanted to do something very extreme to a certain degree,”begins Anselmo,“but I did not want to alienate Pantera fans or any of the other bands that I’ve been in, but it’s very much a first step type of thing. For me it’s also three years old now, so it’s like damn, I’ve been sitting on this thing forever. So I’m a little over it, but that being said, we’re going to do some touring, we’re gonna do some shows and we expect to have a lot of fun with it.
