Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! We can be people that rejoice. There are barriers that stand against us. The negative circumstances in life rob people of their joy. Arguing with others and fighting amongst ourselves will deny us of any happiness. Yet the Bible tells us to rejoice in the Lord. This may not be seen as a command but it is one. We are familiar with several commands such as “Thou shalt not kill,” “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” and “Go and make disciples.” We might be caught off guard that being joyful is, in fact, a command. We show joy since our names are in the Book of Life. We also show joy so that others may see the difference in our lives. Joy is something that we take with us throughout our lives. We never set it aside. Joy is what distinguishes a Christian. Know that we have a reason for the joy that is within us. Jesus, the Son of God, has freed us from sin. Isnt that enough to make you rejoice? -Chris
