Philippine Embassy Press Release 12 September 2014, Ankara, Turkey Ankara PE Starts Authenticating Contracts for Household Workers with 700 USD as Minimum Salary Starting 01 October 2014, the Philippine Embassy in Ankara will only authenticate contracts for Filipino household workers in Turkey with at least 700 USD as minimum salary. Our kababayan are much sought after by employers here in Turkey due to their exemplary work ethics and their good English-language skills. It is only appropriate that they receive compensation that is commensurate to the high-quality service they provide, said Consul General Robert O. Ferrer. It has been noted that Filipinos are being hired for household work that includes not just taking care of young children but also doing house cleaning and cooking. Today, the Embassy gave its consular authentication for a contract for a Filipino nanny working in Ankara with a salary of USD 1000. The Turkish employer, Ms. Beyza Yazioğlu Kozak, describes her Filipino nanny as a very hard-working and dedicated nanny to her a year and half year old child. Her Filipino nanny, likewise, has only good words to say about her employer whom she describes as a kind and considerate boss. It is hoped that Filipinos will enjoy salary standardization in Turkey in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Services of Turkey.
