Philippines August 1, 2013 Rice Stocks Stand at 1.86 Million Tons, Up 15% from Last Year September 09, 2013 - 22:38:13 Total rice stocks in Philippines as of August 1, 2013 stand at around 1.86 million tons, up about 15% from about 1.62 million tons as of August 1, 2012, according to the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS). Total rice stocks include around 640,000 tons in household rice stocks (accounting for 34.2% of total rice stocks), which is up about 6.5% from around 600,000 tons seen in August 1, 2012. Rice stocks with the National Food Authority (NFA) stand at around 640,000 tons, up around 20% from last year, while commercial warehouse rice stocks (accounting for about 31.5% of total rice stocks) stand at around 580,000 tons, up about 20% from last year.
