He didnt shy away from stating his partys position and defending it and he definitely swayed some who may have been fence sitters. I particularly enjoyed (and somewhat agreed with) his firm grasp of the Education vs Jobs issue whilst his interventions on FDI just seemed more crystalized for me. My only quip with him was his repeated attempts at freedom square politiking. I suppose as a political strategy he needs anything and everything to differentiate himself from his opposition colleagues. A 4/5 for me Duma Boko on the other hand seemed to have either not done his work thoroughly OR he deliberately opted out of prescribing situation specific interventions on each of the issues addressed. It seemed as though he was more concerned with engraining the idea that the UDC as an organisation is markedly different from others in that it is open to entertaining all ideas based on their merits vs prescribing specific interventions to issues as seen by his strategic concessions to BCP policy material. Seems like Boko was running a very philosophically correct line of argumentation all day, whilst appreciated may have left some feeling neglected on the specifics of certain issues. What was also fairly striking for me was his appeal to emotion and his 2 minute olive branch to all members of the public at the end. A 3/5 performance for me. HAVING said that,I really enjoyed that debate. Its a pity(and indeed cruel irony) that the one guy who didnt bother turning up for this may very well be the guy being sworn in as our leader on the 28th
