Photo taken downtown Seagoville in 2010. Nothing like when we were growing up. We had narrow streets and the hustle and bustle downtown. Smiths Pharmacy, Western Auto, Ice House, Welchs Grocery, Seago PD, Dickies Hardware, Western Wear, Williamsons Furniture Store,( I still have the bedroom suite my Mama bought for me in 1975 from Williamsons). On the corner was the OLD Bank before moving across the street then eventually building on Hwy 175, Trying to remember all the businesses downtown when we were growing up. I do remember the Crest Theater ( I never got to go there), The old barber shop with Mr Dunn ( His wife Birdie was my neighbor here in Mabank until last year she passed away). Charles Smith was your first Go To when you were sick. He and David Talasek were so gifted in taking care of us. House calls too! LOL Dr Carl E Markstrom would come to our home when I had pneumonia when I was real little and Charles Smith came to check on me and deliver our medicine. So many wonderful memories of growing up in OUR HOMETOWN!!!
