Photos submitted by one of our Engineering student, Cesar Ambriz from his ME113 - Mechanical Engineering Design capstone course. Isometric and front views of the low-cost, mass-production-ready solar still. The solar still is an affordable solution for filtrating dirty water in areas where clean water is inaccessible. The still is able to condensate clean water particles on a glass/acrylic panel and collect approximately 8 cups of 2 liters of clean water per day. The hope is that one day the solar still would be cheap and easy to manufacture in order to be shipped and provide clean water to those affected by water shortages worldwide.
