Photovoltaic Industrial Park Planning Application (13/00751/FUL) - TopicsExpress

Photovoltaic Industrial Park Planning Application (13/00751/FUL) at BEAUREPAIRE FARM by a German Company called KRONOS The following information is from a concerned resident and not from the Parish Council and as such we do not confirm the accuracy of it, but we invite you to visit the planning pages at BDBC website where you may register your own views. We as a Parish Council are consultees and have followed the official process to register our concerns and objections about this application. We have been asked to share the following: HISTORIC HAMPSHIRE COUNTRYSIDE UNDER THREAT FROM SOLAR PARK DEVELOPER. WE NEED YOUR HELP BEFORE 23RD JULY! 54,000 3 meter high panels over 100 acres of productive arable land between two of Hampshire’s most significant listed estates During construction 800 FORTY TONNE LORRIES will drive down Morgaston Road Huge risk of damage to oak trees, highway & other road users We are not against Solar power, but we are against locating so many panels so close to historic buildings and beautiful countryside, on productive agricultural land needed for food production. Greg Barker MP, Minister of State for Energy & Climate Change, only last week said: “Solar has a bright future in the UK, but not in any place and not at any price. I want UK solar targeted on industrial roofs, homes and on Brownfield sites, not on our beautiful countryside” Alexander Arcache, MD of Kronos is quoted in minutes of a Cornish planning meeting: “in several countries now there is legislation in place that actively promotes solar farms alongside highways because they are of ‘an industrial character’ but they are not of a very rural character” The solar park developers are flooding councils in Hampshire with applications to force through approvals So why the UK and what’s in it for the solar companies? The German Government are stopping all subsidies for Solar as “solar energy ran out of control in the last three years”. German Solar Companies are now focusing on OUR incentives earmarked for domestic solar installations. In the last two weeks, three large German solar companies have filed for bankruptcy. There is no legal recycling obligation for the panels or their toxic content. The majority of which are made in China. There will be no financial benefit to our country, just the loss of our heritage and useful agricultural land for the next 25 years. What you can do to make a difference? Register a formal objection planning.basingstoke.gov.uk/online-applications/ or Email – the case officer [email protected] Stating your name, address, ref 13/00751/FUL, and a short sentence “As someone who values the countryside highly I OBJECT to the proposed Solar Park at Beaurepaire Farm, because of the site’s proximity to The Vyne and Beaurepaire House” (Please use your own words) THANK YOU For further information or for more detailed objections contact [email protected] – 01256 881824
