Physics Major students, Juliana Richie and Hillary Packard - TopicsExpress

Physics Major students, Juliana Richie and Hillary Packard attended the Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) at University of Chicago. Juliana got the opportunity to visit the Fermi National Labs while Hillary attended Argonne National Laboratory. Touring the laboratories at University of Chicago was also awesome (Walking through heavy snow was not very fun though). Many Congrats to Juliana for successfully presenting her research poster on Graphene Characterization. It was a great opportunity to learn about career opportunities for physics, applying for grad school.. etc. There were interesting talks on Astronomy and Quantum Computing etc. It was a wonderful experience. Meeting a bunch prominent physicists in person was great. No need to mention that the road trip to Chicago was a blast. Both Juliana and Hillary would like to acknowledge the support from Center for Undergraduate Research and the Department of Physics at SIU. Girls, Stay tune for the CUWiP next year !!!
