Picture of a prominent Valdez fish trap in the 1920s. Fish traps built by the large companies, such as the Alaska Pacific Fisheries, were notorious for taking whole runs of fish. This led to the destruction of the fisheries and the way of life for many Indigenous villages. I am also running into references concerning dynamiting the streams, but I am not sure I understand what went on. Any help out there?
