Piracy and ebook piracy disproportionately affects indie artists incomes which is perhaps why big, popular authors like Neil Gaiman claim it isnt an issue. Maybe the answer is simply an honesty box - like Patron - where you send kick backs to indie artists you stole from when poor? I know some authors who dont even earn a living wage yet their books have been downloaded for free tens of thousands of times. This makes them understandably resentful. I dont check my download figures for fear of finding something similar, after all as a poor person I have been known to watch the odd film of TV program through alternative media. What do you think?
